Cold Lake is situated in the eastern part of the province and is a short distance to the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. It is approximately 170 km (100 miles) north of Lloydminster, 294 km (180 miles) northeast of Edmonton and 588 km (375 miles) northeast of Calgary.

Below is a brief list of things to do while in Cold Lake. Cold Lake has two indoor arenas, one 4 sheet curling rink, tennis courts, two grass green golf courses, an amusement park, hiking and biking trails, baseball diamonds soccer fields. Another feature attraction is the Lake itself. The Lake offers water skiing, power boating, fishing, scuba diving, and sailing. Whether you are new to the Cold Lake experience, or looking to make the transition, the community of Cold Lake has plenty of amenities and services to offer to you, to your family, and to your business.
Everyone heads to the water in summer. If you're a landlubber, Kinosoo Beach will engulf you. There are three city blocks of sand enhanced with amenities such as a public washroom, volleyball courts, playground, picnic tables, grass lawn and an ice cream stand to help make the heat endurable. The water is shallow at Kinosoo Beach so it warms up after a few hot days in June.
